Beginning Painting

This class is open to both beginning and advanced students and will focus on working with acrylic and or oil paints. Students will be taught composition, developing luminous color, using lost and found edges, telling the artist's story, and more. This class will equip you with the skills to achieve greater control over your medium and attain more tremendous success in your artwork and competitions, making your investment in these classes truly worthwhile.

Karen Vernon

Karen Vernon is an internationally recognized American artist celebrated for her mastery in watercolors, oils, acrylics and pastels. She began her artistic journey as a child, taking a top award at the age of seven. Encouraged by her parentls and teachers, she developed a profound appreciation for the flow of color.

Vernon's formal education includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, which laid the foundation for her diverse artistic career. Her works are distinguished by their luminosity and vibrant use of color, often depicting floral and natural subjects. Her paintings are part of numeros museum, private and corporate collections worldwide.

In addition to her personal artistic persuits, Vernon is a dedicated educator, teaching workshops across the United States, Canada and Europe. She emphasizes the importance of quality materials and a deep understanding of medium to achieve the desired luminosity and intensity in her works.
